Year-Round Education

The "Multi-Track" year-round educational schedule at Star of the Sea school provides our students with significant academic advantages over their "Single-Track" peers.  Our educational program provides the entire school community the chance to continue to learn and grow together on a year-round basis.  Your children's minds do not stop developing just because there is a break in the school year.  We believe that our students deserve the opportunity to learn and develop their mind and morals all year long.  Academic research (such as that done by Carolyn M. Shields & Steven Lynn Oberg) has shown a number of advantages of year-round education over the traditional single track schedules:

At Star of the Sea School, the year-round calendar offers continuous instructional classes 47 weeks a year with before and after school care.  Intersessions enhance the curriculum with remedial and enrichment classes.  These additional components of our curriculum are designed to nurture and support the many talents of our students during periods that they would be academically inactive at a old line "Single-Track" school.  This flexible year-round calendar meets the various schedule and vacation needs of our families while providing our students with significant academic advantages.
