Social Studies in an interdisciplinary subject that encompasses history, government, and geography. Our program inspires students to explore and instills an appreciation for the cultures that make up our world today, as well as the events that shaped it. With rich content and hands-on activities, our program encourages students to learn and grow.
The Social Studies program provides a highway for students to broaden their understanding of the world as a whole and an opportunity to develop life long skills that promote respect for cultural differences and and a sense of cultural belonging.
The Intermediate Level (Grades 4 & 5) explores our rich American history and culture. It provides students the understanding of the American heritage and how America has affected the world. The U.S. Regions are studied in depth where students learn to identify the landforms, natural resources, and culture of each region.
In the Primary Level (Grades 1, 2, & 3) students study the different holidays as they happen throughout the year and the significance of the holiday. In doing so, they also learn about important people in The students learn rules and what it means to be a good citizen. They learn map skills and what communities are about.
