Easter Celebrations at Mary, Star of the Sea School
In preparation for the joyous celebration of Easter, students at Mary, Star of the Sea school learned about prayer and pretzels and how they go together. The pretzel being symbolic of prayer and penance is a small but powerful instrument in bringing families to God. Students enjoyed making their pretzels and then eating them too!
Then, during Easter vigil, after months of preparation under the guidance of Mrs. Deanna Rasmussen, 5 MSOS students celebrated their “new beginning” into the Catholic church thru the sacraments of baptism, first communion and confirmation. Congratulations to Heather Smith (4th gr), Chaeeon Lim and Katie Sah (3rd gr), and Caitlin Jaimes and Sung Joon Lim (2nd gr).
And, finally, MSOS students participated in the parish sponsored Easter Egg hunt. Eggs are also symbolic of new beginnings. With over 4000 eggs available, students enjoyed the hunt on Easter morning and then even on Monday morning, as they scoured the field looking for those remaining eggs that were still waiting to be found.
