English (Middle School –  Gr. 6-8)

Ms. Purugganan deciphers life experience through language. As a child, books and journals were her only constant companions in a chaotic world, especially during her middle school years. She believes the language arts are a way to share and express the most profound experiences of the human spirit. To share her love for written and spoken language, she has taught English language arts, English as a Foreign language, and art at all levels, from preschoolers to adults, in central Thailand, northern Spain, on the mainland, and throughout O’ahu. In her teaching practice, she aims to connect students to spirit, each other, and themselves by nurturing their creativity. She holds a Bachelors in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago and a certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language.

As we prepare for the 2020/21 school year, the safety and health of our ohana is our #1 priority.  See our Back to School Plan of Action for our in-person learning starting Monday, August 3, 2020.
