Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) projects have Star of the Sea students immersed in fun experiments that challenge the students into applying what they know and researching what they don’t know to design and test and learn. The 2nd graders designed “helmets” for hardboiled eggs to see which would survive a two-story drop. Third graders learned the different tools scientists use when conducting experiments. Intermediate students learned about buoyancy and designed boats to hold pennies. You never know what these future engineers and scientists will create next!
