“Once we registered our two children at Mary, Star of the Sea School, we received a very warm welcome from the entire staff and other parents from day 1. The application process was very smooth and professional. Being a rather small school allowed very intensive care of our kids with a personal approach that gave us the feeling of being part of a big family. The school principal knows every one of her children by name and emphasizes the importance of direct access to her kids…….beautiful, our kids loved it. The integration of catholic principles and the involvement of the kids in the preparation of every week’s Friday mass made it a pleasure and something to look forward to for our children. They loved preparing mass and practiced public speaking at the same time. The intense English lessons our children received in the first few months in order to learn English fast, helped them very much to feel comfortable after a very short period of time. The very many different projects during school education with deeply involved and caring teachers made every school day a special experience for them. We appreciated a lot the uniforms and dress code. It simplifies communication between the kids and makes life easier for the entire family. We deeply enjoyed seeing, how children of different grade levels work and play together. Our family was also very excited about the efforts of the school to teach the children environmental issues and succeed in eliminating plastic, using stainless steel utensils in the cafeteria and composting in the school’s own garden. This is very unique at the moment for a school on Oahu to “Go Green”. Mary, Star of the Sea School was the best choice.”
